What personal information are we gathering, and what are we using it for?

The CRÉPAS can use the personal information gathered through the JeConcilie.com website for the following objectives:

  • Answer comments or questions addressed to us;
  • Perform analyzes and gather statistics about our audience and about the way our website is used, in order to better understand your interests and preferences;
  • Detect security incidents and protect ourselves from malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activities;
  • Carry on any other action for which the personal information was collected;
  • Other objectives described in this policy or permitted by law.

How do we collect your personal information?

We directly collect your personal information in the following situations:

  • When you communicate with us by email, in person, by phone or in writing;
  • When you complete the survey on the JeConcilie website;
  • When you visit our website.

 

What identification, tracking or location technology do we use?

  • The CRÉPAS uses Google Analytics to measure the audience and record visits to the website;
  • Using cookies, Google Analytics collect specific information, such as the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the links you clicked on, your computer’s operating system, your browser’s language, the name of your internet provider and your geographic location. The data collected by Google is anonymized and cannot be associated with any individual person. They are kept on servers located outside of the province of Québec;
  • You can install a browser extension to disable Google Analytics and keep it from recording your information.

What identification, tracking or location technology do we use?

We keep your personal information for as long as the goal for which they were collected hasn’t been accomplished, and in compliance with our internal policies and procedures on that subject. For advertising purposes, the CRÉPAS uses the services of third-party websites like Google, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to promote its services and programs.

These technologies are used to display targeted ads related to your interests. The information sent to these websites is anonymized and cannot be linked to an individual person.

The JeConcilie website contains links to third-party websites that are operated by other organizations. The CRÉPAS has no control over these websites and we bear no responsibility by linking to them. We highly encourage you to read the privacy policies of these other websites.

Legal context

Because it is a public body, the CRÉPAS is subjected to the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (hereafter the “Act on Access to documents”).

As such, the CRÉPAS must ensure the privacy of the personal information collected while fulfilling its functions. It must also make sure that this information is only used by authorized personnel. The collected personal information can be shared with other persons or organizations only in the cases provided for by the Act on Access to documents.

The Act on Access to documents allows you to consult your personal information and correct it. Requests for correction must be sent to the person in charge of the access to documents and the protection of personal information at CRÉPAS.
